About us
Gohar Educational and Welfare Foundation (GEWF) is a USA-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming lives through education. Our mission is clear and impactful: to provide every child, no matter their background, with access to quality education, empowering them to create a brighter future.
Vision: A brighter future for all children, where education is the foundation for moral, spiritual, and intellectual growth, leading to socio-economic uplift.
Mission: To adopt schools and provide quality education to underprivileged children, promoting equality and enhancing public education, regardless of race, color, religion, or financial status.
What we have done so far
Gohar Foundation has proudly adopted two government schools in Karachi Bahadur Yar Jang Primary and Secondary through the Sindh Government’s “Adopt-a-School” program, directly impacting the education of over 500 students from Kindergarten to Grade 10. We’ve launched a Saaf Pani Project to provide students and staff with access to clean drinking water, and we’re now setting up a Tech Lab to equip students with essential digital skills for the future. This is just the beginning and with your support, we aim to adopt more schools, expand our impact, and continue uplifting underprivileged communities through quality education.

At B.Y.J Government Girls Secondary School, we believe that every girl deserves a quality education in a safe, inspiring environment. We’ve taken on the responsibility of upgrading our school’s infrastructure, enhancing academic programs, and improving the overall quality of teaching and learning. But we can’t do it alone—we need your help to make this vision a reality.
We have formally adopted both the B.Y.J Secondary School and B.Y.J Primary School, and our commitment is unwavering. However, the journey ahead requires significant resources. The school urgently needs major building maintenance and repairs to ensure our students have a secure place to learn and grow. Alongside this, we aim to elevate the standard of education by investing in academic excellence and enriching co-curricular activities.
